Making a christmas tree

Reindeer, handmade by Brianne

Justin and I took Brianne to Eden Farms today to see Santa. Eden Farms is a therapeutic riding center about 30 minutes outside of Greenville. They hold a fundraiser every year for Christmas with "reindeer" horse rides, wagon rides, a live nativity scene, arts and crafts, and of course, Santa. Brianne had a blast making christmas presents for everyone. Her favorite thing was the horseback ride. She didn't want to get off! She was happy to see Santa, but when he got close to her, she hid in Justin's chest and started crying. As soon as he walked away she said "bye bye Santa." I guess she likes him from afar. It was a fun day! Blake stayed with BeBe for the day and I was told there were lots of giggles and laughs. Thank you BeBe!

Our Visit with Santa

Brianne really does like Santa! I know you can't tell by this picture, but we had a great time at the mall last Sunday. We got there early to get in the front of the line. While we were waiting for Santa, Brianne and I walked around the mall. She had fun pointing out all of the manicans body parts; toes, hands, head, nose, etc. Blake didn't fuss at all while waiting in line with Jusitn. He actually fell asleep in the car seat without crying, which never happens, unless we are in a car.
Finally, the moment we had all been waiting for arrived. Santa was here and met with a round of applause and awe from the children! Brianne said "Hey Santa Clause" and waved to him. Blake was still sleeping and I just knew that when I woke him up he was going to scream. But he didn't scream at all, he just grinned and wondered which knee to sit on. Brianne on the other hand screamed her head off as soon as Justin put her in Santa's lap and kept screaming until he picked her up. She stopped as soon as she was in Justin's arms and even waved and said "Bye Bye Santa". Maybe she won't have a meltdown next year and may actually get to tell Santa what she wants for Christmas!

Halloween Festival at First Presbyterian

We went to the halloween festival held at our church on the way to Asheville. Brianne had a blast and Blake slept the entire time. They had to move everything indoors because of the weather, but it was still fun. They had lots of games like kicking the soccer ball, fishing for a prize, and bean bag toss and they even had an ice skating ring. After each game the kids got to pick a toy out of a bucket and the first prize Brianne picked a beaded necklace, her favorite. But every other time she picked a pencil. Not sure why. She also had the balloon maker make her a giraffe, which she held on to the rest of the day. I think she had the best time riding the horse. Blake didn't wake up until we were on the way to Asheville to go trick or treating with Uncle Dallas, Aunt Katherine, and cousin Dallas. It was a fun start to the day!
